Limiting Beliefs


Grab a sheet of paper and let’s walk through this assignment, ask yourself the following questions and write your answers & thoughts on a sheet of paper. BE DESCRIPTIVE!


  1. What are things that you see other people doing that make you feel scarce in your own life?

  2. Do you struggle with negative self-talk?

  3. Find it challenging to reach your goals or finish projects?

  4. When you describe yourself, what do you usually tell people that you always/never do?

  5. What areas of your life do you wish you could be more confident in?

Your answers to these questions are just the start to identifying your limiting beliefs, next:


  1. Write the limiting belief down.

    1. Do the deep detective work and follow your thoughts and emotions to discover the limiting beliefs that hold you back and create roadblocks.

    2. The questions we answered earlier may help you.

    3. Write 1-5 limiting beliefs on paper.

    4. Put them on paper and stare them in the face!

  2. Acknowledge that these are beliefs, not truths!

    1. Do you find yourself defending & justifying your beliefs?

    2. Or do you try to disprove and work through your beliefs?

    3. Which are you more interested in, defending your limitations or achieving your goals and desires?

    4. You choose with every behavior and actions.

  3. Try on a different belief.

    1. Visualize a new belief that is aligned with what you want.

      1. Example: It might be something like, “My financial difficulties in the past have taught me so much that I’m fully prepared to handle them now!”

      2. Example: “Now that I’ve been I’ve had an unhealthy relationship with food I’ve learned what to do to create a healthy relationship with food.

    2. Don’t just say it, visualize everything necessary to achieve this new belief, really really step into this new belief and feel how it feels.

  4. Take different action.

    1. Start acting like the person you want to be until you are the person you want to be. Fake it until you make it!

    2. Fast forward and start acting as if your new belief is true.

      1. Example: If you really are a faithful steward of your finances & have learned from past financial difficulties, what steps would you take?

    3. If you really are the kind of person who values what they eat, and honors their body with movement, what will you put in your grocery cart & how often will you participate in physical activity?

Whatever you do, be proactive, and take the first steps towards your new belief. By procrastinating & avoiding the necessary steps you will just feed your old limiting belief. Just do it & start Slaying!!!!!!
